Is Winter Giving You Dry, Chapped Lips? Try This Top Rated Product

I don’t know why, but I’ve always felt like chapped lips in the winter are more of an issue for me than the average Jane.

Maybe it’s because I live in a relatively cold climate, or perhaps it’s just my sensitive skin causing me some trouble, but for whatever reason, chapped lips have always been a staple in the winter for me.

Until I found the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, that is!

Time after time, this Korean beauty product has continued to save my lips in the winter. It gives them the moisture they crave, prevents painful cracking, and most importantly, prevents any of that not-so-pretty flaking. Ick!

If you’re in the same boat, today, I want to share with you why I love the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, and how it can help you deal with chapped lips this winter.

Let’s dig deeper.

Please note that if you try the Laneige Sleeping Mask, and you use one of the links in this post, I make a small commission from your purchase at no extra cost to you. This post is not sponsored. I just really love this product 🙂

Why You Get Chapped Lips In The First Place

Before we discuss the lip sleeping mask, it’s important to understand why your lips get chapped in the first place.

A very basic explanation is that, in the winter, cold air isn’t able to hold onto moisture as well as warm air, so naturally, if you live in a cold climate, you’l likely find the air dry.

In addition, the skin on your lips is much thinner than any other part of your body, which is why at the first sign of cold weather settling in, your lips start to chap. Your lips just don’t have the protection they would need in order to fight off the impact of cold weather.

Not to mention, while we all might like turning up the heat in our homes to keep toasty during the winter, this sucks the moisture right out of your home, which means even when you’re not out in the blistering cold, you’re still susceptible to chapped lips.

Alrighty, onto the details about the lip sleeping mask!

What is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask?

If you’ve never heard of the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, it’s essentially your average lip balm, but on steroids!

It’s meant to be worn at night (although I’ve definitely worn it during the day), and its goal is to give you more supple and moisturized lips, visibly reducing any flaking.

Oh, and it’s also great for helping with any fine lines you might be developing on your lips, which is a nice anti-aging benefit that I’m all about.

How Does The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Work?

chapped lips

Now that’s all fine and dandy, but you might be wondering why not just go pick up your favorite cherry chapstick from your local drugstore?

Well, first off, I just have to give a little PSA, and say to always be careful with what you’re putting on your lips. Oftentimes, the cheaper lip balms and chapsticks have a lot of ingredients in them that will actually make your lips even more chapped. In particular, stay away from anything that has artificial scents.

If you’ve experienced the frustration of chapstick making your lips even more dry, I’ve got a strong feeling that once you get the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask into your beauty lineup, you won’t have this issue ever again.

This lip sleeping mask uses Laneige’s exclusive Moisture Wrap technology, which helps boost hyaluronic acid in the lips, which, if you know anything about skin care, is absolutely essential for retaining moisture. In addition, this technology forms a protective barrier around your lips, so that you while you sleep, you’re locking in moisture, vitamins, and all the minerals found in the lip sleeping mask.

Some of these vitamins and minerals include the always important Vitamin C, antioxidants, and a delightful blend of strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry. Seriously, this stuff smells so freaking good.

So now that I’ve got you all excited about this product, you might be wondering whether it’s actually worth $20. And guess what? I absolutely think it is, so let me tell you why.

Is The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Worth The Price?

As I mentioned, I absolutely think this product is worth the price, and there are a couple reasons for why.

First off, and probably most importantly, this product works.

I’ve been using the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask consistently since March, and my lips have never felt more smooth or supple. While I still do get dry lips from time to time, this more so has to do with a pesky habit of licking my lips.

Another PSA, licking your lips is one of the worst things you can do when you have dry lips. Your saliva contains digestive enzymes that over time will wear the skin on your lips down, which makes them more prone to the dry winter conditions. Trust me, don’t lick your lips if you want to help prevent chapped lips.

Okay, back to what I was saying…

The Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask does everything that it says it’s going to. It makes your lips supple and smooth, it helps get rid of flakiness, and chapped lips are a thing of the past with this baby in your lineup.

The product stays on your lips extremely well, which is particularly important when we’re talking about a product that is suppose to work while you sleep. It also smells absolutely amazing, like I mentioned. And there’s just something luxurious about putting a nice layer of this product on at night.

Not to mention, because it works so well, you can stop spending your money on chapsticks and lip balms that don’t work.

Plusssss, this product is going to last you. I’ve had mine since March, I’ve been using it consistently, and I’m only just now starting to see a little dent in it (that’s almost 9 months of use!)

But hey, if you don’t believe me, there are over 3000 five star reviews on Sephora, and I’ve seen Lauryn Evarts of The Skinny Confidential talk about it on Instagram, and if you’re not following her, she’s basically the queen of all things skincare.

Anyway, guys, I think I’ve rambled on long enough about this amazing product, but seriously, if you’re dealing with chapped lips, and you’re looking for some relief, this is an absolute must for you.

It truly does work.

Give it a try, and let me know what you think. I’ve got a strong suspicion that your lips will be thanking you!
