NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Review: Everything You Need To Know

For a long time, concealer was not a part of my everyday makeup routine.

Kinda crazy considering concealer is now such a must-have for me.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that concealer is my number one must-have in my makeup bag.

In particular, I like to always have concealer at-the-ready to help conceal dark under-eye circles, and if there’s one concealer that has never failed me, it is most definitely the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

If you’re looking for a long-lasting concealer that looks natural, goes on effortlessly, and comes in a variety of shade ranges, I promise you, this is it!

Today I’m going to go over all the benefits of my favorite concealer. Plus, I’ll share some swatches of it, along with how I use it on a daily basis, and why I prefer it over the also popular NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Product Details

If you’re already familiar with the Radiant Creamy Concealer, feel free to skip this section, but if you need a little refresher on some of its product details, I’ve got your back.

The NARS Radiant Creamy concealer is a hydrating, award-winning concealer that’s known for its natural finish.

It’s an easy-to-wear concealer that is simply applied with a wand, and comes in 30 (!!!) shades to help perfectly match your unique skin tone.

In addition, it is formulated with grape seed extract and Vitamin E to really help assist with hydration, giving you that on-trend “dewy” finish.

Not only that, but you’ll also find that this concealer is great for reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, which I’m all for!

And lastly, if clean beauty is something you’re interested in, keep in mind this concealer is formulated without the use of parabens, sulfates, SLS, SLES, and phthalates.

In my books, this is the best concealer, but let’s dig a little deeper into some of the specific benefits of the product if you’re still on the fence about whether or not it is for you.

If you’re still unsure, remember, if you’re going to be using the concealer for your under eye, you’ll probably want to go one shade lighter than what you normally would for foundation. If it’s more for spot concealing, something closer to your foundation is probably best.

In that same vein, don’t forget that these concealers can be used to highlight and contour as well.

Note: I personally wear the shade “Cannelle” which is a light concealer with a peachy undertone. This works perfectly for my under eye.

I could go on and on here, but these are the top 8 reasons why I’m so in love with this concealer:

1) Shade Range

I think it goes without saying that the shade range of this concealer is a pretty major benefit.

It allows everyone and anyone to try out this product without having to sacrifice on finding your ideal shade.

Not to mention, it’s always super annoying when you have to purchase two shades in order to combine them into something that matches your skin tone.

With 30 shades offered, oftentimes, with the Radiant Creamy Concealer  you can avoid this dilemma and find your ideal shade pretty effortlessly.

2) Natural Finish

For me, the biggest reason I love the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer so much is because of its natural finish.

For me, I’m much more of a natural makeup girl. I don’t like wearing makeup that is super heavy, and I would definitely prefer to spend less time on my makeup without sacrificing on how it looks.

The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer allows me to do this.

It covers darkness and spots, but it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a mask.

In addition, it’s super breathable, light, and you’ll likely even forget you’re wearing makeup when you add this to your makeup routine.

3) You Don’t Need To Set Your Concealer

Because of the high quality nature of this best-selling concealer, if I’m in a rush and I forget to set my concealer (or I simply feel like skipping this step), it’s not a big deal.

I never find that the concealer settles into any of my fine lines and I don’t get that unflattering dry look that happens so often with other concealers.

Having said that, when I know I’m going to be wearing makeup for a long time, or I really want to look nice, I will set my under eye just to help further brighten everything up (I’m all for bright eyes!).

If you’re looking for an amazing setting powder that doesn’t look powdery and is almost undetectable on the skin, I’m absolutely obsessed with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. It’s a little pricey, but I’ve had mine for close to two years, and I still haven’t hit the pan.

4) Can Conveniently Use Fingers

Again, this probably isn’t a very “pro” makeup tip, but I LOVE that I can use my fingers to apply this concealer.

I know, I know, I should probably be using a makeup sponge, but this NARS concealer is so good, I really don’t have to.

A couple years ago when I was using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, using a sponge did feel necessary since this drugstore concealer didn’t tend to sit well without, but with NARS, it’s just easier for me to use fingers. Plain and simple.

5) Buildable Coverage

As mentioned, for me, I prefer that natural makeup look, so I really don’t use too much of this concealer when I do my makeup; however, if you do want more coverage, or you’re trying to cover a particularly stubborn pimple, you can easily build up the coverage to what you need.

Simply apply more and you’ll get heavier coverage. Or, apply less, and you’ll get a more natural feel. Either way, you can pick what works best for you, and this NARS Concealer will fit the bill.

6) Suits Any Skin Type

Oily, dry, acne-prone, combination…

Whatever your skin type, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer will work for you.

Yes, even if you’re more oily, you’ll still love this hydrating concealer.

Why?

Because, if you read my post on how I cleared my acne, you’ll know that, oftentimes, oily skin is a simple symptom of having dry skin (your skin is producing more oil to compensate for how starved for hydration it is).

In addition, keep in mind, I use this concealer everyday, and while it’s certainly a more creamy consistency, it’s NOT so slippery that it slides off your face, by any means. It’s just a little more sheer than your typical matte concealer (remember, though, as mentioned, the coverage is buildable).

Bottom line: no matter what your skin type, you’re not going to be disappointed. I consider this the best concealer for a reason!

7) Supports Moisture Retention

If you’re using the Creamy Concealer for your under eye, it’s important to know that this is a very thin, sensitive part of your skin.

It can easily become dry (especially if you’re not regularly using an eye cream), and therefore it’s very important to use products that help hydrate this delicate area.

This even applies to if you’re using the concealer to cover pimples.

Why?

Because, again, if you read my article about my acne journey, you’ll know that acne is often the manifestation of overly irritated skin. When you use products on your skin that are hydrating, soothing, and full of high-quality ingredients (like Vitamin E and grape seed extract!), you’ll help in reducing your pimples, because you’ll be soothing them (harsh chemicals, acids, and abrasive skincare products make acne worse).

Trust me, hydration is key for any women who wants clear skin.

8) Super Long-Lasting Formula

And lastly, if long-lasting makeup is on your list of must-haves from your concealer, I’m certain you’ll be pleased with the Radiant Creamy Concealer.

As mentioned, I wear this concealer all the time, on both long days and short days, and I never notice much of a difference in the look of the concealer, whether we’re talking about a long day or a short day.

I’ve even worn this concealer while travelling through Europe last summer, and I’d wear it on days where we’d be out in the heat all day exploring, and again, I never had an issue.

Actually, come to think of it…

I’ll wear this concealer even when I know I’m going in the water at the beach, and it still retains some of its look even after going in the water, which is pretty amazing, if you ask me.

How I Use The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

Everyone is obviously going to use their concealer a little differently.

For some, it’s all about covering up those pesky dark under eyes. For others, concealer is primarily used to highlight and contour.

For me, personally, I exclusively use concealer to cover dark under eyes.

I find my It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream works well for concealing any redness or small pimples I might have, meaning I don’t really need concealer for this purpose (you can read my full review of this best-selling foundation here, if you’re interested).

Therefore, when it comes to how I use my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, it’s pretty basic and easy.

I simply apply small dots of the product right under my eyes, with the majority of the product concentrated towards the inner corners of my eyes since this tends to be where I’m darkest.

In addition–and this has been game changing for me–I ALWAYS add my concealer onto my eyelids.

This really helps bright things up! Not to mention, doing this also works as an eyeshadow primer if I do choose to wear eyeshadow.

Why I Prefer The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Over the Soft Matte Complete Concealer

Now, by no means is the Soft Matte Complete Concealer bad.

In fact, it’s a really great concealer for summer, or when you really want something that you can feel confident isn’t going to budge.

Having said that, I still prefer the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer over the Soft Matte Complete Concealer, because the Radiant Creamy gives a more natural and glowy finish, in my opinion, at least.

I mean, it’s called the RADIANT creamy concealer for a reason. It just gives off that radiant, fresh feeling that I can’t get enough of, ‘ya know?

Of you can experiment with both, but if you’re like me and you prefer a more glowy and dewy finish from your makeup, you’ll probably like the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer better.

Conclusion: Is The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer Worth The Price?

I think if you read this entire post, the answer will be pretty obvious, but yes, the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is absolutely worth the price.

In fact, you’ll likely notice I didn’t include any negatives to this review, and that’s really just because I couldn’t come up with any things that I don’t like about this concealer.

I’ll keep repurchasing the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer time and time again, and I highly recommend adding this concealer to your everyday makeup routine, if you also prefer a natural makeup look, like myself. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
