If there’s one topic related to beauty that I know better than any other, it is most definitely skin care, and which is why today I put together this comprehensive list of best skin care products.
Let me start by saying, though, that for a large portion of my life, I had awful skin. And no, I’m not talking about the typical teenage acne. I’m talking about skin that made me constantly self-conscious, to the point where I didn’t even like being out in public.
And so, I developed a bit of a healthy obsession with skin care and finding the best products.
But hey, I didn’t figure this all out overnight. I know firsthand that sorting through all the products and brands out there can get super overwhelming.
Do you really need a toner? What about masks? Is there a specific cleanser that works better than others?
These are all questions I’ve had, and by no means am I a dermatologist, but if you’re struggling with your skin, or you’re just looking to nail down a skin care routine that helps achieve healthy skin, I hope my list of best skin care products can help you out.
Okay, enough talk. Let’s dive into this!
This post contains affiliate links, but I’ve only included products that I 100% believe in.
Try out this list of best skin care products, and let me know your results!
1. Start with your cleanser
Every woman should absolutely have a cleanser in her skincare routine, even if she’s not prone to blemishes or breakouts.
Why?
Because a cleanser is the most basic skin care product out there, and even if your skin isn’t breaking out, if you’re not cleansing, your skin is undoubtedly not as bright as it could be.
Cleansers help to remove dirt and oil that build up, which is especially important if you wear makeup regularly. In addition, by removing this build up of dirt, oil, and product, you help to unclog pores. And, if you now anything about skin care then you probably already know that clogged pores are what cause acne.
Keep your skin squeaky clean by cleansing once in the morning and once at night. Just ensure that you’re using a cleanser that is gentle. There’s nothing worse for your skin than something that strips the skin, and leaves it dry.
Personally, I would highly recommend The Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh.
I’ve purchased this cleanser twice now, and have had nothing but great results with it. It’s infused with rose water, which is known for its purifying and balancing properties. It also has amino acid rich soy proteins, which help to support your skin’s natural elasticity. Plus, I love that it’s even gentle enough to use to remove my eye makeup.
Start off your skincare routine on a high note with The Soy Face Cleanser. You won’t regret it.

2. Next, use your toner
Okay, I’ll be honest with you guys here: I only just started adding a toner into my skin care routine about two weeks ago.
I had used a toner years ago, but somewhere along the way, I just omitted it from my routine, and boy what a mistake that was!
Toners are great for removing any oil buildup that wasn’t picked up by your cleaner, along with balancing out your skin’s PH level, soothing your skin, and just overall improvement of your complexion.
You can get toners that work for different skincare concerns. For example, there are toners for oily skin, sensitive skin, and even acne prone skin. If you have a specific skin care concern, I would suggest picking a toner based on that concern; however, if you’re just looking for an overall good toner, I would suggest the Beauty Elixir by Caudalie.
While this isn’t the toner that I personally use, I did a lot of research to see what others are saying about this toner before recommending it. I also watch a lot of beauty Youtube videos, and I’ve heard so many of my favorite influencers rant and rave about this product.
To expand, it’s specifically formulated to improve your skin’s texture and brighten your complexion. Just a quick spritz of this cult favorite product will make all the difference in the appearance of your skin.

Now, having said all that, if you are curious about what toner I’m using, I’m currently using the Hydrating Toner from Pure Anada.
The only reason I’m not recommending it on my list of best skin care products is because of convenience. I know many of you are American, and because this is a Canadian company, I know that shipping between borders can get tricky; however, if you are Canadian, I highly suggest trying out this toner. In just a week of use, it’s already made a huge difference in the appearance of my skin!
3. Finish off with a moisturizer
While a cleanser might be the bread and butter of your skin care routine, your moisturizer is the dessert. And, oh boy, do I love myself some dessert!
I think it’s probably pretty self explanatory why a moisturizer is important, but if you need a little refresher, a moisturizer is what keeps your skin both looking and feeling hydrated.
When your skin is dry, this leads to a buildup of dead skin cells, which in turn leads to acne and blemishes. In addition, by keeping your skin hydrated, your skin will not only be brighter now, but you’ll also likely keep your bright, glowing complexion as you age. Believe me nothing will age your skin faster than dehydrated skin.
And so, if you’re on the hunt for a high quality moisturizer, my top pick would be the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. While this might not look like the highest end product, of all the moisturizers I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot of pricey ones), this is my absolute favorite.
With this pick, you won’t experience any greasy feel after application, makeup goes on over top beautifully, and it’s actually been clinically proven to improve skin’s hydration by 169%, which is absolutely wild!
And the best part?
In comparison to most moisturizers, for the amount of product you get, the price of this moisturizer is phenomenal.

Oh, and hey, if you’re like me and your skin tends to get super dry in the harsh winter, be sure to check out my tips for keeping your skin hydrated all winter long. Trust me, it’s the little adjustments that you make in your skincare routine that will make the biggest impact.
4. If you want to go all out, I recommend a hydrating serum
While I don’t think a serum is absolutely necessary for a skin care routine (I only started using them this past year), I do think if you really want to keep your skin looking its absolute best, you should try out a serum.
Essentially, a serum is just a really ramped up moisturizer. It penetrates deeper than your regular moisturizer, and serums often contain skin loving ingredients, which is why they tend to be a bit pricey.
Once again, there are different serums that target different skin concerns, but in general, serums will help with dryness, hyper-pigmentation, and uneven complexion. In particular, though, I love serums for their anti-aging benefits.
Now, if you’ve never used serums before, or you’re hesitant to spend a lot of money on a new product, I’d highly recommend purchasing the NightBright skincare duo from Drunk Elephant.
With this packaged product, you’ll receive mini versions of the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil and the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum.
I purchased this duo since these are pretty pricey products on their own, but after finishing both samples, I can clearly see why their priced so high. They work!
The facial oil is full of antioxidant skin-loving ingredients, and is extremely hydrating.
While the night serum is amazing for helping to produce collagen, which is extremely important to help reduce wrinkles and signs of aging.
Together, these products work wonders to give you that youthful glow that we’re all striving to achieve.

5. Don’t forget to add in an exfoliating mask at least once a week
Again, I think your cleanser, toner, and moisturizer are your absolute skin care essentials; however, I would also recommend always have an exfoliating mask on hand.
By exfoliating weekly, you’ll deep clean your skin for that extra dose of skincare goodness. Not to mention, when you exfoliate, your skin care products will more easily be able to penetrate your skin, and get past the surface, which is what you want for the best results.
So my recommendation?
This is a hard one for me to pick just one recommendation to put on my list of best skin care products. Largely because I’m constantly experimenting with my skin care and trying different products, but if I had to pick just one exfoliating mask that always leaves my skin feeling fresh, bright, and totally rejuvenated, I’d have to recommend the Modern Friction Dermabrasion Mask by Origins.
This mask is known for its ability to smooth away rough skin, along with reducing signs of sun exposure and uneven/discoloed skin, which is perfect for someone like me who likes being in the sun a little too much…
Anyway, point being, this is a great mask that will instantly make your skin both feel and look smoother, with a visible improvement in skin’s brightness. Trust me, this little mask exfoliates like a pro!

And there you have it: The best skin care for women!
Keep in mind, I tried to make this list of best skin care products very basic. I didn’t want to overwhelm anybody by saying you need to buy a ton of products in order to achieve bright, healthy skin.
Instead, what I recommend is starting off with these basic skincare products, and seeing how you do with them.
Establishing a skin care routine that you feel good about is all about experimenting, but you have to start somewhere. If you’re overwhelmed by all the skin care products out there on the market, start slow and try my recommendations.
I’ve got a feeling once you start using high quality skin care products that work, you’ll get addicted to good skin care, and you’ll never go back.
Let’s achieve that glowing skin, shall we?
